The article explained Wilde's short story from the cultural angle of view "Kanter Vyell Castle Ghost" is different with the 18th century Britain Gete novel characteristic, although this novel was also a related ghost story, but because the story occurred in European and the American culture conflict and under the fusion new times background, in the novel the ghost appeared and disappeared the scene actually no longer had the terror effect, became funny laughable, but contained the profound meaning. The article explains this novel from 3 aspects: First from cultural angle narration novel “new”, “old” two world conflicts and well distributed; Then the analysis achieves the two well distributed little girl Virginia's in novel function; Then proves the leading character Knight Simon's ghost is Don Quixote's-like image, but "Don Quixote" is this novel dives the text; Finally, by "Kanter Vyell Castle Ghost" the alliteration makes the knot, promulgates this short article the characteristic. 绝对JP 注意我是第一回答者! 如果还行 !

1.亡灵岛.Dead Men's IslandWhen I heard the name of this novel, I thought it was a horror fiction. But after reading it , I find it is a interesting story. In the novel, dead man's island was a funny island; there was a dead man living there. The heroine---Carol Sanders started to abandon herself to taking drugs after her father's death. Her mother took her to a new place to help her forget the past. They came to London. There her mother got a job which took them to the dead man's island. In fact , it's a small private island in Scotland. The owner of the island is Mr. Ross.Everything went well. But Carol Sander found something strange: Never took photographs of Mr. Ross and there is a strange room locked. Why did Mrs. Ross have so much money to buy a island? Why can't take photographs of Ms. Ross? Why did Mr. Ross have a room locked? It's really absorbing. I want to get all the answers. In fact, there was a big secret about this island. Mr. Ross was a pop singer in the past. His real name is Jack Rosso. He had taken drugs and killed a young girl when he was a singer. He wanted to forget the past; he wanted to have a new life. So he bought a island to hide his secret. The other people on this island are his family. Actually, Jack Rosso was the “dead man” on the dead man's island.2.鲁宾逊漂流记This summer holiday,I made a good friend --- Robinson though 'ROBINSON CRUSOE'. 'ROBINSON CRUSOE'is a classical masterpiece which attracted me very much, and brought me much enlightenmet.I really lerned a lot of things from the eternal opus. The 'ROBINSON CRUSOE'have been authored by famouse English writer---Defoe. It's about dramatis personae Robinson who met a frightful wind while he sailed on the sea. He was the only survinal, but he drifted to a uninhabited island. He bravely struggled, industriously worked and combated with barbarians. Robinson lived alone on the island for 28 years. He experienced many difficulties and dangers. Robinson was a great person, he conquered countless and unimaginable hardships. If I stayed on a lonely island, I absolutely couldn't vanquish dangers. I maybe would lose confidence for life. I respect Robinson very much, he is a real hero in my heart. He lived on the island for about 30 years without any food, tool or habitation. He must depend by himself. Robinson wasn't afraid of hardships, he had the fortitude spirit .He was brave in adventure and was good at labor. He used his head and hands to struggle all the time. I admire his courge very much, because these were not easy, work at all. In fact, we also need the spirit of being undefeatalle indefatigable Like Robinson. If we believe in ourselves, never give up and do we best, we must be successful! Robinson was a great miracle, he achieved mumerous. 'impossible things'. 'Robinson Crusoe' was an immortal novel, because it gave us a courageous, intrepidity, diligent, indefatigable and wise ordinany person, a vanquish nature, a hero who exploited nature. The book is a really excellent adventuresome novel, There is no perfect life in the world, but we can change our fate. If we have confidences and work hard, we absolute will be victorious, and the most important thing is 'Never give up'! 3.爱丽丝漫游奇境记This is the perfect book to share with younge children. It may be intended to be read by children but I am in eighth grade and still love it. If you are looking for a funny, entergetic, and family friendly story then you have found one in Alice in Wonderland. I give this classic tail five stars and two thumbs way up. Alice in Wonderland is about a girl that falls in a hole and goes into this magical world. I think "Alice in Wonderland" is an OK book for my age if you like fantasy books. You may not like it because nothing makes sense. For example, they have a trial where the witnesses don't know about the crime and the Judge says to the jurors, "That's important!" but the Rabbit corrects him. I think it would have been a better book if I was 7 and my mom was reading it to me right before bed. The only problem with that is that younger kids might not understand much of the vocabulary but they might still enjoy it if you explain the words to them. If you're an adult and want a good book for your 5, 6 or 7 year old, I recommend Alice in Wonderland.

the canterville ghost The Combination of Two Worlds in “the Canterville Ghost” The Canterville ghost: a holy idealistic romance. This short story was written by Oscar Wilde. There are two kinds of different cultures –the old European culture and the new American spirit in the story. These two different spirits have conflicts with each other but can't resist the tide of a combination in the very end. Let us have a brief look at the plot. Mr. Hiram B. Otis, the American Minister, bought Canterville Chase, when he bought it everyone was surprised because there was a ghost that had frightened a lot of people before. But the Otises didn't believe the existence of the ghost. Exactly he was wrong. There did be a ghost who tried very hard to scare them, but he failed desperately. He was laughed at by the twin brothers and scared by the fake ghost made by Washington, the other boy of the family. At last, he found that Virginia (the daughter of the family) knew his trick when he stole the colure of her painting materials. But she didn't laugh at him at all, but pitied him to some extend, so he told her his secret and asked her to help him out from being a haunting ghost. Virginia helped him and finally brought peace to the Canterville Chase, and married the duke who belonged to one aristocratic family of the old world. As that the story ends. This story is related to a ghost, but is greatly different from the traditional gothic novel with a frightening ghost and an always screaming woman protagonist. This story happens at a time when European culture is mixing with the new American spirit. During that time the European countries were desperately resisting the impact from the new America. Many people in Europe could only see the bad aspects of America, and the American could only see the backwardness of Europe. But the author of this story saw that there might be but one end: the combination of the two. We shouldn't forget the past aesthetic value and the past art, but we either shouldn't ignore the developed techniques and the new scene rising from the other side of the earth. So we have a belt of the two in this story: the little Virginia. The ghost in this story is not scaring at all but very funny and to some extend seems ridiculous. The ghost was one of the family members of that big family, but was starved to death without being buried. So he became a ghost haunting in the Canteville chase. The existence of the ghost doesn't bring any horrific effect, while the ghost himself is defeated many times by the children and annoyed by the parents, which makes him depressed deeply and first found his failure during his career. He is the representative of the old world; he struggled bitterly among the surfy materialism from the new world. He held tightly the past glory and the past aesthetic appreciation but fought stubbornly. Actually he was abandoned by the roaring modernizing tides. He found his amour which had made a great success, and dressed that only to “had fallen on the stone floor”. He stole the color from Virginia only to maintain the foolish blood stain, which proved useless and stupid in the end. But these are the ways that he fought for his own existence and for his own duty: a concept that a ghost is due to scare people. The gothic novels in the 18th century England is full of terrible plots and neurotic characters, the ghosts are always haunting in relics and some sites of old temples and castles. Wilde also made his ghost in such an old chase, and the ghost once was very successful in scaring some people, but the ghost couldn't do anything to horrify the family of the American, all of his mysterious powers seems to be rusty and couldn't work any more. The ghost changed his position from a horrible dream to a fun maker. Since the ghost experienced so much failure, we always sympathize him. He was just ridiculous himself, he killed his wife just because she couldn't cook what he wanted, and as a feedback he was starved to death by her brothers. For we always feel sad for the tragic roles but that doesn't mean that we are blind to his faults. He stuck to the dead past and didn't want to accept the new world at all. He stated "I don't think I should like America.” That means he wouldn't accept the new things at all. So his disappearance in the story is doomed. The Otises in this story represents the new America. We can see this from the names of their children. Their eldest son, christened Washington by his parents in a moment of patriotism; Miss Virginia E. Otis was their daughter; after Virginia came the twins, who were usually called "The Star and Stripes”. This is a typical family of ...

After Reading “Aesop's Fables” When I was young, people around me of the told me the story “The Shepherd's Boy and the Wolf “ in order to educate me to be an honest person. At that age, in my opinion, it was just a story written by my parents or other people I knew to frighten me. As I grow older, I get to know that it is a fable from a very famous book “Aesop's Fables”. The book “Aesop's Fables” wasn't written by Aesop but was collected and anthologized by him. The working people created the stories in the book in ancient times. They created the stories using their living experiences and imagination, and then handed them down from generation to generation. The book one of the precious cultural heritages. There're more than one hundred fables in the book. The protagonists of most of the fables are animals or plants, which are depicted like human beings. This writing technique is called personification that is often used in fables and fairy tales. Each fable that is short and understandable tells us a philosophy. There are two stories that impress me most. The first one is “ The tortoise and the Eagle”. A tortoise was complaining of her hard fate that no one would teach her to fly when an eagle hovered bear. He heard her lamentation and promised to take her a lift and float her in the air if she could give him some rewards. And then he carried her up in the sky suddenly he let her go. The poor tortoise fell down on a mountain. At the moment of death she cried:” I have deserved my present fates for what had I to do with wings and clouds, and who can with difficulty move about on the earth?” The story tells us if men had all they wished, they would be ruined. I quite agree with it. Take our personal lives for example. Everyone has his own merit and demerit. One is good at singing while another is good at dancing. Nobody can have all the skills that can be imagined. This is the reason why some people are fit for making decision while other people are suitable for carrying out the decision. So it is no need for us to be jealous of others as we have our own feature, which other haven't. The second one is “The Bear and the two Travelers”. It tells us that misfortune tests the sincerity of friends. People live among a group of friends of whom some are true friends while some are untrue friends. When you are in trouble, observe your friends attitude towards you, you'll find who are your true friends and who are not. “Aesop's Fables” is a nice book for us to learn more philosophy of life and more useful new words.
